Nepal’s Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), supported by Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (RIMES), organized the first national Climate Application Forum (CAF) in Nepal on 13 May 2024.
CAF is a venue for climate preparedness planning, where sectoral stakeholders review their climate risk-informed, anticipatory preparedness plans and implementation, and identify areas for improvement. These will consequently build capacities for effective long-term climate adaptation and resilience.
The first national CAF is a collaborative engagement between the World Bank-funded CARE Component 1 and the USAID/UCAR-funded Strengthening Last Mile Communication (SLMC) in South Asia projects, both of which are implemented by RIMES.
